Can a person catch a cold by walking out side in the cold
Greetings fellow Americans...It occured to me that an individual could
catch a cold from...the cold? Is this true or is a cold not caught from
the great out door but instead from bacteria or viruses? l personally do
not think a person can get sick from going outside naked in the freezing
cold. So what is the answer?l will give five points to the person that can
properly cite the information. Good Luck.
No, one cannot ''catch'' a cold from the cold or merely going
outside. The cold, also known as the 'common cold', is any of many
variations of a virus, usually a rhinovirus, which one can ''catch'' from
contact with residue or air droplets from an infected person is saliva or
mucous.
The infection is association with actual cold or cold temperatures may be due to the increased demands on a person is body, including the immune system, during winter months, leading to immune weakness & increased susceptibility. In addition, cold weather tends to confine people together in closed (warm) spaces, potentially increasing the incidence of exposure, & therefore the incidence of infection. The Cold is not caused by bacteria, therefore antibiotics will not cure or alleviate symptoms from a cold. In fact, taking antibiotics for the cold may be detrimental, since it can eliminate helpful digestive bacteria, not to mention contributing to bacterial drug resistance mutations which are a major threat to effective treatment of bacterial infections.
The common cold is a VIRAL infection, meaning it is caused by a
virus. Colds are more common in the winter because, for one thing, people
are cooped up indoors together a lot more, spreading germs around. For
another thing, when all those holiday gatherings begin, you're around A
LOT of people and germs!
I don't recommend going out naked in the cold, but it won't make you catch a cold.
Cold weather is not what causes colds. Germs, bacteria and
viruses do. The only reason we tend to get more sick in winter is because
most of us spend more time indoors in close proximity to people. Therefore
we have a great chance of coming into contact with their germs.
only viruses and bacteria can make you get a cold, experiments
have been conducted where they put people in ice and didn't catch anymore
colds than people who stood warm. There is a theory about going into bad
weather with no coat because you tax your immune system from your body
trying to keep warm making you more susceptable to catching a cold.
